Amy enjoyed herself so much that she signed up to work at the Project Linus table for the Quilt Festival. That way she gets in free! She will be working 4-7 on Thursday evening if you want to stop by and say hello.
We talked about getting a "field trip" together and going to the Quilt Festival. The only day I am available is Friday, November 5, and I don't want to stay all day, so let me know if you are interested.
We three have marked the second Thursday of each month on our calendar and are planning to attend the meeting each month. They had a great lunch prepared and did a show and tell after lunch. You wouldn't believe the beautiful things that we saw! Too many things to describe. She had so much information about Project Linus that she shared with us and I took lots of photos (again). I am hoping that these turn out better than the ones I took earlier in the week.
She was extremely excited to see all of the blankets that we brought to donate. We only brought about 35. This way I will have some more to donate in November. I requested to go along on the trip to Texas Children's Hospital West because that is the only hospital that will actually let you personally deliver the blankets to the children in their rooms. Sally said she thought she would be going in early December unless they called her earlier than that.
DON'T BUY ANY FLEECE FOR BLANKETS UNTIL YOU SEE WHAT SHE DONATED TO OUR GROUP!! She gave me a huge black trash bag full of donated fleece (I'll tell you the story at the meeting next week). I haven't counted how many pieces there are, but I think there is enough for each of us to make two blankets for free. This will give us a great start for next year.
