I was out fooling around with my succulents today and noticed that one of the plants in that saucer didn't look too good. I bent down and put my hand in the soil to fix it and felt like the soil was dry and packed. I put my finger down in there to pull out the root ball so that I could fix it. When I pulled it out it took me a few seconds to realize that I had that frog in my hand!
I screamed, straightened up and hit my head on the metal candleholder/sculpture that I am planting succulents on, knocked it over into the beds that have ground cover, all of the succulents disappeared down into the ground cover, there is dirt all over, and the frog is just sitting there looking at me. He looks like a rock when he has his eyes closed. He stayed for quite a while and then hopped on off into the ground cover.
I don't know if he will come again, but I am leaving that spot open on the dish planter. Apparently he likes it and I don't want to lose another plant. I'm sure if anyone would have been watching, it would have looked like a comedy routine.
UPDATE: All of the plants in this planter have died except for the square one with purple edges (crassula). I had to replant. No sign of frog again.
