Knots KNews for November (updated)

Good news and Bad News:

Good news is that my mother is doing great and is very excited about moving into The Terrace at Memorial City.  It seems like a wonderful place, and after the tour, I was ready to move in too!  She will make lots of friends and there are many activities for her to participate in.  We went furniture shopping yesterday and got new living room furniture for her apartment. I truly think this has been a blessing in disguise.

The bad news is that I will have to cancel the Regular December Evening Meeting.  We have to go back to Lafayette on December 13 to start the moving process.   I know that we have had a rocky start with cancellations, this is one that I can’t help.  It might be best for everyone anyway since we are so close to Christmas.  I am suggesting that we move our December book The Help to January, and move our other books to the following months.  Please let me know if this is OK with everyone.  I really don’t know what else to do at this time and I have to get my mother settled.

I still want to attend the Common Thread Circle meeting the third Tuesday of the month at Memorial Drive Methodist.  Their next meeting will be January 19.  They meet from 9:30 – 12:00. Would anyone like to go with me?  I think it would be very interesting.  They also meet on Mondays at Starbucks T & C from 2-4, so let me know if you want to go to that one also or instead.  It is so exciting to have so many organizations interested in our products!!! I even got a chance to promote them at St. Luke’s Hospital and at The Terrace.

We had a small group last night, but it was nice seeing everyone.  We decided to try 6:30 as a new start time because 6:00 seems to be a little difficult for some.  Remember, you can come a little late, stay a little late, or leave a little early.  We don’t have any rigid rules.

I would like to request that everyone respond when an RSVP is sent out.  It helps to know the number of people that are coming and everyone understands if you can’t make that meeting, or if you will be a little late, etc.

I think we have pretty much decided not to have food at the evening meetings.  Everyone is working with their hands and can’t eat anyway.  The morning group will still be a “brown bag” group for lunch. It was nice to see all of the different projects that are being made.  I am still working on blankets and throws, Cheri and Tanya are making the most adorable baby hats, and Rachael showed us a new way to tie knots on the blanket she is making. Welcome to Diane Allen, a new member attending last night. Our other new members were not able to make it, but we are still hoping. A request for the blanket link:

I wanted to attend the Common Thread Circle meeting the third Tuesday of the month at Memorial Drive Methodist.  I was unable to attend due to handling things for mom, but would love to try again in January.  They meet from 9:30 – 12:00. Would anyone like to go with me?

We don’t have to stay the whole time, but I think it would be very interesting.   Please let me know, so we can plan to attend. They are very interested in our products as are Star of Hope, Children’s Protective Services, and hospitals.

I would like to think that I can't be described in a short paragraph.  Some adjectives that come to mind:  curious, caring, kind, generous, excitable, motivated, emotional, fun, organized. What do you think?    Claire
