We are on our way to Lafayette tomorrow to start arranging my mom's house sale and pick up the firniture that she wants to bring back for her apartment. I am so ecited that she will be living here and that she has the opportunity for such a great change in her life at this time.
The Terrace has been talking to me about doing a book club and a version of our blanket making/handcrafts group with the seniors. We are still working on the details, but they are very excited about helping sick childrren and other patients in the hospitals. If anyone wants to help me with that, it would be great.
If you have your blanket made that you want to donate (or hats, etc.), please bring to the January meeting and I will try to deliver them toward the end of the month (after the Common Thread Circle meeting).
If anyone has news that they would like to share, please send the information to our new e-mail address:
lotsofknots@sbcglobal.net
and I will include it in our Knots KNews Blog.
The Common Thread Circle meeting is the third Tuesday of the month (January 19) at Memorial Drive Methodist. They meet from 9:30 - 12:00. Jodie S. is going with me and we would love to have more company if anyone else would like to join us. I will deliver a few of our products that day and see what their group is all about. They have been very interested in our work, and I thought we might be interested in helping them with some of their projects also.
They also meet every Monday at Starbucks T & C from 2-4, so after attending their regular meeting, I think I would like to try to check our the Monday afternoon meeting. Cheri J. expressed an interest in attending with me, and I know we would love to have more company for that one also. I believe that they mainly stuff their heart pillows on those days, and I heard that they get to sample the latest Starbuck's treats.
