Happy Memorial Day and clarification on blanket kits

Hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend.  We have been very lazy, and enjoying it.  We had Dr. Cheng come to the house Friday night to give us massages, and then we fell asleep and slept until almost 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Can you believe it?  Boy, does my neck feel better!!  It was wonderful to be so relaxed.  We played all day with the new bird, Maggie and Rascal (see photo below), so that they could get used to each other.  They seem to be getting along great.  Maggie already looks better after being taken out of the environment that she had been living in.  We took all of them to the bird store and had feather clipping, nail clipping, and beak filing.  They are all spiffed up for the big family visit next week.

Elizabeth, Tara and family, are all coming in for a visit.  We will be celebrating Averie's and Tom's birthday with an all day adventure at the zoo on Saturday, and a special surprise lunch on Sunday.  Can't give away the details yet because Tom reads the blog most of the time.  Averie will stay with us the following week, and we have so many things planned.  I wonder who will be exhausted first?

I do have a clarification about the blanket kits that I have at my house.  They are all priced at $15.00 whether it is a complete kit to make from scratch, or if it is a kit that I have fit and cut out.  I just threw  in the free labor by fitting and cutting the kits
because there were several people that didn't feel comfortable with the cutting part of it and I wanted to help out.   They are still kits that we need reimbursement for.   All of the money that was donated for kits to be made into blankets has been spent on material and already made into blankets.  These are posted on the Homemade Products page.

I hope all of this make sense.  I think some of the people volunteering to tie blankets think that those are the blankets that have already been paid for and just need tying.  I will bring a few to the Low Vision Group the next time we meet because I think they are also interested in donating and tying a few.

Any help that anyone wants to provide is appreciated.  We are well on the way to meeting our goal.  I made two more blankets and scarves this week, but will not be working on them for the next few weeks.  I am getting ready to squash the completed ones into one of those space bags because I am running out of storage space in my closet.  What a wonderful problem to have!!!!

I would like to think that I can't be described in a short paragraph.  Some adjectives that come to mind:  curious, caring, kind, generous, excitable, motivated, emotional, fun, organized. What do you think?    Claire
