Please remember that you do not need to know how to sew, knit, crochet, cut out material, or even read a book to be part of our group. We invite you to come listen and decide for yourself. We can show you how to help with a project if you would like or you can just donate some money for us to buy material to make the project. If you haven't had a chance to read the book, or it is one that doesn't necessarily appeal to you, just come and listen to our discussion and you can decide later if you want to read it. Come enjoy a couple of hours away from the world with some great women friends! Who can resist that?
The discussion about the March book was quite animated. Some people were new to the author, Jodi Picoult, some people had read all of her books, and some people were like me and had read several of her books and enjoyed them. This one, however, was not one of those. This book spurred on lots of conversation, which is probably what the author wanted. The feeling that I took away from the discussion was that some people were never going to read another book by her, some people thought it was beginning to sound like a formula, and some people thought she made you think very hard about moral principles and decisions. It proved to be one of our more "lively" discussions. That was great!
The April meeting will be at my home at 6:30 p.m. (yes you may show up earlier) on Thursday, April 21. See you there :o)
