As far as the book goes, I propose that we start reading it as soon as we can, but that we wait until the November meeting to start discussing it. The October meeting is right around the corner and we need to have a knitting lesson and a blanket lesson on that date anyway (October 15). I have knitting needles, extra yarn, and can show anyone how to knit using the American method. I believe that Cheri uses the Continental method, so if you are interested in learning that way, she can show you. From what I understand, the American method is easier. It must be if I can do it :) Tanya will also be able to show us how to purl, but it might be best not to learn those two stitches on the same night. You only have to know the basic knit stitch to make hats and scarves.
If you are going to work on a blanket, you will need to bring your own fleece material (1 yd. 1 1/2 yd. or 2 yd depending on size of blanket), large safety pins, tape measure or yardstick, and very sharp scissors. You might want to review the video again before coming to the meeting. It is VERY EASY.
The daytime people did not respond or commit to a time or day, so there will not be a daytime meeting until more information is received from them. If anyone is interested in a daytime meeting, I can do it during the 3rd or 4th week of the month on any day but Wednesday and possibly Thursday.
Please mark these dates on your calendar so you don't miss any of these fun meetings:
October 15, 2009
November 19, 2009
December 17, 2009
January 21, 2010
February 18, 2010

April 15, 2010
May 20, 2010
Thanks for being so flexible! We are going to have a great time.
