Second, I want to thank everyone that has come to our "lessons" on how to make a crochet edge, progressed even more in how to make a crochet border, how to cut holes in the material, etc. It has been so much fun to get together at other times than just our monthly meeting and to see several new faces. It seems like everyone is enjoying learning a new skill and knowing that it will help others in need. These new blankets also make great gifts and I know many of you are making some for family member and friends.
Third, I want to remind everyone that this Friday, October 7, is our "official" visit to the Project Linus house. We will tour the home that they have set up for this huge project and meet the lady in charge, Sally Burns. We will plan to meet at my house around 9:00 a.m. She has the date marked on her calendar, and I will try to confirm with her today. Since she does some substitute teaching, I have to call her at 8:30 Friday morning to make sure she didn't get a call to substitute. If not, and I'm hoping she doesn't, we will verify that she is there and will head out to Old Town Katy. Then we plan on having lunch at the tea room - Tanya sent that link earlier. PLEASE let me know if you are coming for the tour. I may need to make reservations for lunch, and I know that Sally wants to know how many are coming. I think it will be fun and extremely informative. Please try to come if you can. Amy and I are planning to go to their regular meeting on October 13. They meet on the second Thursday of each month. I have not confirmed this with Sally, and I know that she didn't want a large group of us to come to the meeting for our first visit (?? don't know why ??), so since Amy couldn't make it on the 7th, we will go on the 13th. If none of these dates work into your plans, you can hear about our visits at our regular meeting on October 20. If you still want to go after that, I will try to arrange another visit.
Fourth, I am updating our mailing list for 2012. If you are one of our new members (yay for new members), someone that has made blankets this year, someone that has donated money for materials this year, and hopefully attended some of our meetings, you will be on the list and DO NOT have to do anything about this mailing list. If you are someone that had good intentions of donating, but didn't get around to it, this will be your last message from Lots of Knots UNLESS I hear from you. We are so sorry to see you go, but I don't want to keep bothering you with e-mails and updates that you may not be interested in.
Fifth, I would like to welcome the new members and invite you to our meeting on Thursday, October 20, at 6:30. You can find more information about this and many other things by visiting the website.
