This Tuesday we are collecting children's books for the Star of Hope Women's and Children's Center. One of our new member's sons is an Eagle Scout and this is his civic project. Let's try to help out by cleaning off our bookshelves and donating a few books. I know I was able to round up a boxful. The kids will really enjoy them. Can you imagine curling up in a handmade blanket and reading a good book? I'm sure many of the children there have never experienced an afternoon like that!
I am looking forward to my Rag Quilt lesson this Tuesday. We are learning how to do the Rail Fence pattern. There are 3 people signed up for the class, so they are planning on conducting it as usual. They really look great, and I have a feeling that I am going to love making them. Then I guess I can start adding flannel to my fabric closet! It is starting to look like a store in there, but I am already preparing for our donations next winter. I would like to be able to do it before Christmas and not as late in the year as we are doing it this year. Anyway, by the time the Thursday evening group meets, I should have a Rag Quilt to show you. It's still not to late to sign up!
